GINGER CAMPBELL has
been active in event production, public relations,
and entertainment marketing for over 10 years. Her
M.B.A. in Marketing and International Business from
the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern
University gives her a keen business sense and understanding
of added value for clients. Managing operations and
raising over $2.5 million dollars in sponsorship dollars
for Chicago's largest events, The Taste of Chicago,
the Blues, Jazz and Gospel festivals, prepared her
for the next phase of production--corporate hospitality.
For the Steve Winwood "Roll With It" tour, she represented
Michelob in 33 markets nationwide, hosting pre- and
post show events for the client, media and artists.
As a result, she is an expert in mega-production logistics
in challenging venues, and has extensive experience
in on-site management, union labor negotiations, audio/visual
set up and execution, crisis management, show production,
crowd control as well as ensuring an on-time and on
budget event.
With the inception of SNAP PRODUCTIONS in Los Angeles
over 10 years ago, Ginger has been producing creative
and exciting events for corporate clients both nationally
and internationally. Beginning with Hewlett Packard,
Ginger created a series of sales incentive events
to get HP’s top sales staff revved up to make a
billion dollars in sales. These “Billionaire Bashes”,
were held around the country and culminated in a
phenomenal, show stopping, sales meeting whereby
the top sales people were treated to a week of pampering
that only a billionaire could enjoy. She went on
to create events around tour packages for Kintetsu
International Express, offering slices of “Americana”
to Japanese corporations. For the Black Entertainment
and Sports Lawyers Association, she created a mini
junkanoo festival in the Bahamas and a star studded
reception for the late Johnnie Cochran in Aruba
immediately following the “Trial of the Century.”
Since then SNAP has continued to create unique events
for companies such as American Express, the Los
Angeles Marathon, the California African American
Museum, Shell Oil, Arista Records, and The Tavis
Smiley Group, among others.
Ginger produced multi-city tours for Tavis Smiley
Presents, Blacks in Technology and Building Inroads
to Technology multicultural tours. These events
included a two to three-day expo with over 70 vendors,
a symposium with keynote speakers such as Steve
Ballmer of Microsoft, Quincy Jones and Sinbad for
an audience averaging four thousand people, as well
as full day of workshops and panel discussions.
She has also produced Smiley’s State of the Black
Union events which drew crowds of over two thousand
per event. Most recently, in the fall of 2011, Campbell
produced a five-city Talented Tenth tour for Smiley,
visiting Historically Black Colleges and Universities
(HBCU’s) and high schools around the country
Ginger has an extensive museum background, having
created and produced events as well as doing marketing
and public relations for the California African
American Museum for the past nine years. She has
produced several galas and receptions in conjunction
with various museum shows. She created, produced
and performed marketing on An Evening of Mystery
and Ears are Burning, Children are Learning,
a multicultural children’s book event. Both programs
have been held at the museum and promote literacy,
a cause in which Ginger is very passionate. She
is planning to tour Ears are Burning, Children
are Learning nationally in 2006.
She served on Museum Marketing Roundtable, a group
comprised of Los Angeles area museums. In addition
she worked with the Japanese American National Museum,
the Chinese American Museum and Self-Help Graphics
on a collaborative exhibition entitled Finding Family
Stories.
Ginger also helmed public relations campaigns for
several exhibitions such as Hair in African
Art and Culture, Brown v. Board of Education,
Finding Family Stories, Close Up in
Black and the African American Journey
West among others. She created the marketing
strategy for the museum’s re-opening in 2003 and
developed an aggressive campaign to broaden the
reach of the museum by capturing new markets. She
worked with a production team to design a stellar
broadcast PSA that the museum plans integrate into
its marketing campaign in the near future.
For the past nine years, Ginger has produced the
Los Angeles Marathon 5K Run/Walk, which is held
in conjunction with the Los Angeles Marathon, a
world-class race. In addition to handling all the
logistics for the event, she also secures entertainment
and media partners to increase the reach and enjoyment
of the event in the Los Angeles market.
With the inclusion of publicity and marketing services,
Ginger now provides a turn-key operation for her
clients. With her knowledge of the entertainment
and arts communities, Ginger has worked with to
develop publicity opportunities with some of the
industry's brightest stars—Stevie Wonder, The Temptations,
Diana Ross and Boyz II Men, just to name a few.
Other clients include The City of Hope Medical Center
and Beckman Research Institute, Exposition Park,
and the NAACP Image Awards. In addition, she has
produced events for Magic Johnson, the Supremes,
Michael Jordan and other high profile celebrities.
Ginger specializes in the arts and entertainment
industries.
Ginger has worked extensively with the health care
market. She consults with City of Hope on its many
fund-raising events (i.e. Walk for Hope publicity
in 17 major cities, Workout for Hope and Jump for
the Cause events). She also performs marketing and
publicity for Research Centers in Minority Institutions
at Charles R. Drew University, working with its
telemedicine and other ground-breaking technological
programs that aid minority markets, as well as the
Los Angeles Eye Institute.
Her event production, promotion and publicity abilities
as well as her bilingual skills add dimension to
our outstanding staff of producers. A Chicago native,
Ginger’s travels have allowed SNAP to produce events
wherever her clients’ imaginations can take them.
Ginger has one daughter, Myko Lyric, who is a budding
associate producer.
